it was pretty good! yet another good anime by shinichirō watanabe redface (creator of cowboy bebop and space dandy)
which brings me to the question of what to watch next,

Shinichiro Watanabe only produced the series (both for the series and for the music).

Its actually from Saya Yamamoto. Michiko & Hatchin was her first directorial work and she's pretty much one of the first prominent female anime director around. Michiko & Hatchin and Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine are the only two series that she's done so far other than her usual storyboarding and animation directing for other series.
