There's nothing wrong with falling in love with 2-dimensional characters.
biggrin Yes, there are a LOT of things with falling in love with a cartoon.
However, there is nothing wrong with find one attractive. But when you go as far as
loving somebody that is not real, you have gone WAY to far.
If you ask me, there's nothing any more wrong with it than there is with falling in love with say, a pop star. I know there are people who are going to scream "Wait a minute, Misa, that's TOTALLY different. Those people are REAL!" To them, I say, "Oh yeah? True, they may be flesh and blood human beings, making them, in a sense, more real than an anime character. But think about it. Those people, in their day-to-day lives, have probably little, if anything, in common with their celebrity personas. And if it's that persona, that FANTASY you are in love with, then you, my friend, are in love with a work of fiction and either don't realize it or are in denial. With anime characters, you know exactly who it is you're falling for. You know all kinds of facts about them, from basic to obscure, you see how they react in various situations... you really get to know what makes them tick. So, in that sense, I would have to say that, for example, a girl who's in love with Justin Timberlake should be classified as being in love with someone who isn't real way more than a girl who's in love with Kenshin should." And you know what? I'm not even saying there's anything wrong with those legions of girls who drool over boy band guys. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, there is nothing wrong with being in love with someone, even if they are an illusion. -MisaHime
