If it's a seinen it grabs my attention right away, then I look at the story, then if the art is too awful I don't buy it. (often happens with seinen lolz)

Sometimes I see awesome art, and then I debate whether the story will be tolerable enough. If it is so, I don't mind buying half-assed stories just for the art.

ALSO: If it looks like the story kicks major a**, it can bypass all other selection criteria.
art. that's what draws me in.

A lot of people choose a popularity of a manga too, but usually i dont know whether that manga is popular or not. sweatdrop
I read the back of the book to see if I like the plot.

I just ignore all that and go for the ones most eechi
Usually a combination of things.
I choose by art, then plot. I can't read something I don't like aesthetically.

To me the most important part of a manga is the story, the art is the second most important part. After all the art could be fantastic, but if the story is lacking then what is the point? But it even if the art is poor, the story could be fantastic then you deal with the bad art and enjoy it for what it is.
