How do you decide the manga is good?

I choose it by art. I choose the author sometimes as well. Since once you got the manga and you see the author, then the other manga that person made probably have nice arts as well.

Anyone here knows the manga Akagami No Shirayukihime? Or Kamisama Hajimemashita? Or like the sweet, cute Chi's Sweet Home?
art, author, story, and genre. Essentially, all of the above. However, art is definitely not the most important but I do generally enjoy a great story with really good art.

If I see it's by Osamu Tezuka or some other mangaka I like, I will definitely read it. Otherwise, it's mostly just, if it's available from a library, I'll read it?

I don't read manga as much as I used to. Back then, my preference was definitely for pretty art.
Story, genre, demographic, and last art. I am not really that picky about the art.

xxxx1) Pick one off the shelf
2) Look at the cover, see if I can at least tolerate the art (I'm a bit picky when it comes to art sometimes)
3) Read the back
4) Flip through it a little bit
5a) If I like it, grab it to check out or make a note about it to check it later
5b) Put it back on the shelf and repeat step 1

Plot. The plot has to attract me in order to read it. Art is second. I could care less about the genre.

A combination of the plot and art.
Chi's sweet hoooome~ emotion_kirakira
And I choose manga by looking at the art. Most of the time I don't even read the back of the book, so sometimes I'll end up with a horrible manga. Usually the mangas I find are awesome though. Like Itsuwaribito....
I RECOMMEND ITSUWARIBITO TO ALL!

I chose a manga basically by looking at the art first. and then, the summary. next, I browse the
forums to see the readers' opinions/ reviews of the manga.
akagami no shirayukihime is my all time favourite <3
the art is simple yet eye-catching. and the characters are very likeable too.
I recommend this manga to everyone who's looking up for shoujo with action,
and not your average, typical female lead @ v @
Art. I can read a bad manga if it looks good. User Image

Popularity, plot, then art. I always pick up popular stuff that people recommend. I don't care about who the author is as long as the story is good.

Art, Author, Story, and Genre , but mostly art because when I read a manga, I need to understand the picture to understand what's happening. 3nodding

It's usually art then popularity. If a manga has a really good story line though, then I could care less about the art xP
All of the above but mostly the genre for me.
