Well, the reason why we dont buy DVDs and BD is that they are expensive. If only they release them cheaper, then I would buy some. Same thing with games. They are priced way too high and thats why we download them.
Any other things you want to blame the consumers on instead of the producers?
Indeed. You can get 24 episode boxsets at the same price that Japan pays for 2 episode DVDs. Oh! And complaining about games being too expensive, you never heard of promotional sales and the like that Gamestop, Target, and Best Buy would do? Hell, I got Sonic Generations for $30 instead of $50 when it went on sale around Black Friday.
Well that's Black Friday. One day of the year. I'm talking about the rest of the year when there are no sales. And sales never happen until the game has stopped making money from the sales or there are not enough sales (Like Duke Nukem, the most disappointing game in the world; waited 9 years for the game and it was s**t). So if they release games for like $40 instead of $60, then I will start buying.
Anime is a waste of money. Well not all of anime is a waste of money. The only thing that I bought that was not a waste of money was the original box set of Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Platinum edition and the BD and DVDs of the movies. Other than that the only worthy thing of buying from anime is figures and posters. Books as well. You can read them online (which i just download and read them from my Nook). Heck, I don't even buy music.
Gamestop's promotions are "Get this membership for $15 and you save on your next purchase" where the discount is less than the $15, so you end up spending $10 more for a "discount." Plus Gamestop plays the games before you get them. That's why the games are always out of the packaging when you go to buy the game. Best buy is only good for electronics. Target is for hippies.
Is for hippies? How do you get that? I mean it's your opinion and opinions are not wrong but I just don't see logic in that response. Target is basically just a slightly higher end Walmart, it's for everyone.
Now I don't like gamestop at all. I will say that they only play one or two copies of a new release, those are display copies. The ones they show over the store in empty cases. Those sadly do get sold if all the unopened copies are sold first so yes it is indeed possible to get a "used" new release from gamestop and that sucks.
As I said above I buy more used games then new games and while I do use Gamestop because there is one close I prefer this store called "Disc Replay." Comparing game prices it's ten percent cheaper then gamestop in my experience, and they give me 50% more money and store credit then gamestop would. Also they buy and sell older games and since I'm still looking for some playstation games I missed before it's a plus. And they buy and sell books, movies, music and so on. I keep waiting for a One Piece box set to walk in so I can pick one up cheap.
Disc replay's problem is they are in only five or six states. If you have one near by check it out.
