The only real anime related disappointment I've experienced is the whole unlikelihood of a second season of PSWG, but I was late to the party finding that out anway cuz I hadn't watched it all till late last year.

telling us about how fan translations are the reason for this
and how fan translations kill off so many anime series,
before actually making a post.

But I'll save them from looking like idiots (it's already too late for the OP),
and explain the reason for the cancellation.

Basically, the author of the series was an a*****e to Media Factory (the publisher) and they disliked him, so he got all angry and cancelled his contract with them. He then went to other publishers like Kadokawa to try to get them to hire him, but they had already heard that he was an a*****e and refused. When he tried to go back to Media Factory, the people at Media Factory refused to take him back.

That's because the games are priced way to high. And don't tell me it never happened to you. You go out and buy a game and its s**t. Wished that you hadn't bought it and now gamestop will only give you $10 for a $60 game?. And then you wished you had downloaded it? Look at Dead Island. The game came out to customers unfinished. People bought it and wished they hadn't. Same thing with Starcraft 2. No LAN mode. Also Borderlands, game came out then a couple of days later price drop of $20. That's why I download games, try them out, see if I like them and then I buy the game when the price is "acceptable."

Indeed. You can get 24 episode boxsets at the same price that Japan pays for 2 episode DVDs. Oh! And complaining about games being too expensive, you never heard of promotional sales and the like that Gamestop, Target, and Best Buy would do? Hell, I got Sonic Generations for $30 instead of $50 when it went on sale around Black Friday.

Well that's Black Friday. One day of the year. I'm talking about the rest of the year when there are no sales. And sales never happen until the game has stopped making money from the sales or there are not enough sales (Like Duke Nukem, the most disappointing game in the world; waited 9 years for the game and it was s**t). So if they release games for like $40 instead of $60, then I will start buying.

Anime is a waste of money. Well not all of anime is a waste of money. The only thing that I bought that was not a waste of money was the original box set of Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Platinum edition and the BD and DVDs of the movies. Other than that the only worthy thing of buying from anime is figures and posters. Books as well. You can read them online (which i just download and read them from my Nook). Heck, I don't even buy music.

Gamestop's promotions are "Get this membership for $15 and you save on your next purchase" where the discount is less than the $15, so you end up spending $10 more for a "discount." Plus Gamestop plays the games before you get them. That's why the games are always out of the packaging when you go to buy the game. Best buy is only good for electronics. Target is for hippies.

When it comes to games I rarely buy games new anyway. I tend to wait a year or two and to buy the game used when it's cheaper. now doing this has backfired as there are some games I had to pay tons for because said game only had a limited number of copies released. So well for mainstream games I wait a couple years and buy used while for nitch games I buy right away as buying them used might even cost me more money.

Now the price of DVDs really is not that bad. The reason why anime DVDs are more expensive then other DVDs is because anime is a nitch market in America and less copies are made so of course the prices are a bit more expensive. However as stated American anime DVDs are far more afordable then Japanese anime DVDs.

Anyway you don't have to buy the DVDs to support legal anime releases. these days so much licensed anime is free online or if you have to pay it's a cheap monthly fee. Crunchyroll, Hulu, Crackle, Toonzaki, Funimation video, and Viz video probably three fourths of all licensed anime is legally available for free or cheap. Also for FUNi and Viz anyway they seem to give only a few dubbed episodes but every subbed episode of many of their shows. I guess they realize that many people who will only watch the subbed version won't buy the DVDs while dub buyers are more likely so they give the sub away.
