With "The Secret World of Arrietty" coming out in theaters here in America, I've recently re-watched many Miyazaki movies. Mine, hands down, is "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind." What are your favorites, Gaians?

honestly, mine is The Secret World of Arrietty.
idk, i just thought it was adorable.
Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away are probably my favourite movies. It's so hard to choose just one. redface
Rupan Sansei: Kariosutoro no Shiro(Lupin the Third: Castle of Cagliostro). It's one of the best Miyazaki Hayao flim that I've enjoyed since Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi(Spirited Away).

I would like to say Kiki's Delivery Service since it was the first Miyazaki film I saw when I was very young. But, after watching most of the others, I'd have to say Howl's Moving Castle is my favourite.

I did love The Secret World of Arrietty when I saw it, but my favourite Hayao Miyazaki movie would still have to be Howl's Moving Castle <3

Spirited Away, with Nausicaa in close second. If the Nausicaa Manga didn't give me nightmares it would be first.

I have to agree with Howl's Moving Castle. It's one of my favorite books from when I was young as well, so it has the nostalgia factor.

I actually found out it was a book after I saw the movie... I credit Howl's Moving Castle as being the movie that got me into reading again, because after I saw it I decided I had to read the book. I'm biased in my favour of that movie in that way because honestly I had avoided reading (aside from manga) for a long time up until that point.

it's important to note that while The Secret World of Arrietty is a Ghibli movie that Miyazaki only worked on the planning stages and was one of two who worked on the script for it. Hiromasa Yonebayashi was the director for that one, who is the youngest director Studio Ghibli has had yet.
