Yeah, Light was trying to order him to kill Near, Matsuda and the rest of the Task force that confronted them but Mikami could take the pressure and commited suicide right there in front of everyone.


And, plz, inform me how Near dies?

This was just a oneshot manga.
OK, well, 3 years after Raito gets killed, Near obtains a Death Note (but yes, he did burn all of the ones from before). He starts killing old sick people.
Then at the end of the manga some shinigami whose name I forgot walks up to Ryuuk and starts talking to him. They get to talking, and the one whose name I forgot said that Near gave a squeal, then wrote his name in the Death Note.

THAT WAS NOT NEAR.
THAT WAS THE HUMAN THAT MIDRA WAS ATTATCHED TOO.
DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN.
