And I do not understand what people see in Bleach! Its somewhat entertaining, but what makes everyone liike it? After rewatching YYH again, it seems really boing...

People wanna see big long Bankias for new faces. Character development and story is out of the question.

No body even knows what that is anymore. It was the BEST, and still my favorie series to date. hell, I own all 12 of the original VHS tapes, and love them to death. It was a kick a** series. I was so excited to se it re-done. All my high hopes were squashed though, and I buught the first disk, and will never look at the rest. that was a shame to be related to the original, which is a classic god of anime.

i dont even own the re-make dvd i bought, i gave it to a friend. i just couldnt look at it.

FMA Fan since American 2004 premiere. This is my law:

I have to say the fact that telivision doesnt keep anime broadcasting long enough, or even at all, for current generations to see. I still have to look up these great ol animes on the internet, and either break the law, or have to pay 50 bucks to watch it, which just wastes my time. I however do believe there are some good animes out their today. (dont wanna sound like an obsessor, but i think fma was pretty good. the fact that it was a sorta cute/ funny anime, and turned straight into a depressing anime interested me.) Its just that current fans arent able to watch animes on telivision now, unless its mainstream media. I do however, have recollections of animes i loved that werent mainstreamed when i was younger, yet they were all practically gone within the same month because of lawsuits and such motherly crap, and not even finishing season one. . .

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, the newer series is more accurate to the manga, but the older one was just so much better even if it was a bit cheesy. The finale with Aptom was awesome in both series though, but at least we got to see some nudity in the original series. Have you ever seen the Manga dub of the original OVAs? God is that dub bad, some of the original voice actors were there (Sho, and a few others) but the new additions sound like the character is still in the damn recording booth.

Did you know. Dating a vampire is the equivalent of dating a corpse.
So, in other words, if you like twilight, you're pretty much supporting necrofelia.

What is it with anime nowadays?
I may have said this before, but old school anime is by far some of the best.
I can conjure up the names of many, Iczer, Guyver, Mobil Suit Gundam, Dragonball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Burn Up!, Ninja Scroll, Kinnikuman, Lupin III, Devilman, Tekkaman Blade, Fist of the North Star, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Samurai Pizza Cats and the list just goes on, and on.

But now, now, I can barely think of one anime made in the past 8 years that isn't just DBZ or another cliche shojo (c'mon, A hostclub? The idea was good, but the presentation was piss poor). I mean, even the remake of Guyver was bad, the dub was great yes, but what they took out of it are what made the first OVA series so damn good.

I'm sure old school fans should know what I'm talking about, and I'm sure some can feel my pain.
So give me a hell yeah if anyone here can still enjoy their favourite old school series (so, everything before 2001 counts) even after watching it over 9000 times. And hell, while you're here, you can let off any steam you may have about any new-age anime you dislike.

Back when those great series were being made, most of the anime/manga were not especially memorable. Its the same today. There are many great series being made right now in the midst of the average ones. Death Note is pretty new, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Darker than Black ... Miyazaki's movies are always good ... there's no reason to despair.

Exactly why I despair, Death Note is one reason. That series has such an interesting story, but I refuse to watch it because it takes itself way to seriously. FMA is way to boring, the movie I didn't mind because it got straight to the point, but the series is just... I won't get into it. And I only really liked Princess Mononoke and Laputa, plus I count them as movies, not actual anime.

That's why I liked him so much.
I was curious to see what kind of creature he would grow into

The last eight years?
Oh come on. Anime is no shittier now than it was then, you're just holding on to your nostalgia.
There was plenty of s**t back when those were made. Just like there's plenty of s**t now. As is there good anime now.

What is it with anime nowadays? You're not looking hard enough, that's what's with it. confused

I broke him.....
I ejected him from the pinnacle of happiness,

I dunno man, we got Shin Mazinger last season, and it was totally awesome. I mean, it's totally worth mining the past, but you've gotta give the new stuff a chance. Ignoring the fact that the fall season is totally balls. Seriously, what the ******** Japan? No mecha?

Hmm...how about good old Kuroshitsuji?
