I personally like both Code Geass because its a mecha and it has Rolo. Shugo Chara because its a shojo and it has Hikaru.

Code Geass is better to me. Aside from being cooler (in my opinion), it has more depth in the storyline and no fillers. But if you're into the shojo stuff, then I could see why you like it better. Still, I don't really think you can compare the two, they're like completely different genres...
