When I heard cartoon network got rid of toonami, I was just kind of sitting there like, "NO... WAY... THEY DID NOT JUST TAKE OFF TOONAMI!" But they did. I hate the way cartoon netwok is doing things now, where its going is where the Disney channel is. Clogged with stupid reality shows starring whoever the heck becomes famous. And I dont even watch the new action shows, I think they have some very badly drawn... Everything! And, well, I dont think its worth my time. Its at the point where i'd rather watch Barney than ANY show on CN!

...

Well, thats a bit of a stretch, but you get my point.

Toonami and especially Adult Swim gave me so much of my starting anime, that It never crossed my mind that it might be gone in the years to come. Epic anime like Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball Z, Ruroni Kenshin, and Naruto are probably only a few that I saw of Toonami's anime.

Bottom Line:

Tell me when I can come out from under my rock, so I can stop trying to ignore reality TV and watch anime on CN again. crying
ya i no it sucks.... bring back the cartoons!!!!

If Brave and the Bold gets canned, and TDI keeps going, I will rage.

Looking forward to Sym-bionic Titan though.

The Brave and the Bold cartoon is terrible though.

******** Keanu Batman.

********]
It's just something I can't really stand. I don't like the way it's animated, and the worst part is the guy who's doing the voice for Batman. ******** Keanu Batman.

You're probably not used to a Batman that is not Grimdark and growly voice.

That or you're not a comic fan.

I'm not the biggest Batman fan. It's kinda hard to get used to a voice that isn't the one from Batman: The Animated Series for me.

When it comes to the comics, I don't get a chance to read them very often (I'm broke and have no way to pay for the comics. D: ), I do have a general idea of what's going on with them however.

'CN Real' contradicts itself. Horray for grammer

Yes, and with the way things are looking, today's youth will forget what the 'CN' stood for, they'll just be two letters stuck in front of another word. Sadly, however, this was something grossly foreseen by more than enough people. Nobody can relate to most of the characters in cartoons anymore. It's why anime because so popular, because you can relate to the emotions that the voice actor and the animators and story writers give to characters. They grow and change. As much as I've always been a huge PPG and Dexter's Lab fan, things didn't really change that much. But both those shows have followable storylines and characters and the humor factor that makes them watchable.

Now you've got Hannah, Jonas, and HSM that have human characters with human flaws. It's drama, kids like drama, and that's obviously why they're making the change, nobody's really producing anything of value anymore, animation is at this slump of 'let's see if this pile of refuse sells and is amusing' and it's just not anymore. You can only handle so much crap before your ratings drop and you have to try for something else, and sadly this something else works and until we start drowning these crap animators who'll throw poorly drawn garbage on paper and give them poor written scripts, it's going to keep moving away from animation and to live action.

two words: spectactular spider-man

And your fist statement bout anime is a big stretch there

Ah, you're right, the proper term should have been 'the anime I have been witness to and enjoyed'. Since not all anime is good and not all of it has a decent plot point. Because dear lord I've seen some anime that's probably worse than any Americanized cartoon I've ever seen.

Yes, and Spider-man has his cult following, he's also a super hero, which makes him endearing regardless, so you do have a major point. But I'm talking more about the....crap they've been putting on CN. I wish I knew the names of the ones that came on when I finally just stopped watching. That's exactly how interested I was. I'd use the aforementioned cartoons that others have used, but I've never even heard of them.

With popular anime a lot of is mostly relying on doing something different at the time, or perfecting the genre of choice of said time. And now Japan is also taking the american route of reusing popular anime series, this year alone were seeing a new full metal alchemist, a lupin III vs dective conan, new mazinger series, and a new dragon ball sereies.

while yeah the new cartoon seem awful they do have there merit mostly flap jack and chowder to make them worthwhile, for the rest it can't make up for the series as a whole. (though I will give kudos for L.O.S.E. for the jesus riding a raptor bit)

See, now I don't mind rehashes, the few minutes of FMA:Brotherhood that I got to see wasn't all that bad (sadly it's subbed and I've heard the voice actor in another anime...which is what makes it sad, I keep thinking of that character instead of Edward. D: *awkward* ) Although, the rehash of Speed Racer (not the live action version) left a little to be desired. Yeah, I'm retarded for campy old anime.

As far as this Flap Jack and Chowder show...I haven't seen it, so...yeah... I can't really critique as far as that's concerned.

Then again, I guess when I look at shows most of what I see is just mindless comedy/violence/whatever, which is fine, but lately I've been in this huge "It NEEDS an epic plot point" kick lately. Don't ask...cause I wonder about myself sometimes, too...

BTW: Detective Conan FTW.

Actually, considering they're getting rid of their line of action figures I wouldn't be surprised. The action figures are kind of retarded looking though, not that the X-men Origins are any better. *has to be forgiven, is half-insane because he works in retail in a toy department*

Either that or it'll be shown when they know their ratings are low or as a filler. *shrug* Haven't seen the series, I sort of lost touch after Batman got really old and that one kid (Terry?) took over as Batman instead of Robin. D: That and I lost cable for...a fairly long time as far as cartoon series are concerned.

I'm sure he's all over YouTube, and when you get a job and a $400 tax refund I'm sure you'll be able to afford all of the seasons that're out so far. *pets head* Other'n that, unless you beg Anime Network, you're kinda up a creek.

O my gawd, I havent seen that in FOREVER. Its been awhile since I even thought about it. O_o; Yeah, I miss things like that and Hong-Kong Phooey... I think that was the first show I ever watched, and I barely even remember it, but I still remember it being my ultimate favorite as a 4 year old.

Dexter's Lab = science teacher walking out of the room and a particular classmate doing Dexter impressions. 3nodding Half the time said student was on the lab table and the rest of the class laughing because...EVERYONE watched Dexter. whee

Ahhh, those were the good old days.
Well you have to think about it, the network is not gonna keep airing the same old shows forever, they have to change a lil bit and adapt to a new market which in this case is younger kids. Besides every generation is different and the shows that you grew up with and once liked are not gonna appeal to kids this days. It's just the nature of things. But I am definitely of the opinion that taking Toonami off the air was a terrible move, and if they are gonna make an adult section like [as] they should add better shows and anime series. The ones they have right now seem to be designed for drunk frat boys with no IQ (no offense to sober, smart frat boys out there).

I agree with you.
it's supposed to be CARTOON NETWORK not MIX OF REAL AND CARTOON SHOWS... TV these days isn't as good as it used to be... crying I miss the old stuff...
I think when they took off toonami that was piviotal point for cartoon network. After that everything just started to go down hill. They put live action movies then they took those off to go to shows like TDI or Sixteen. Now they are talking of live action shows when its suppose to be a cartoon show. Adult swim would be more barable if they didnt show such idiotic shows and moved to more popular shows or anime.
