Can someone please tell me why anime fans like yaoi so much?

Well, I really didn't know I read/watched yaoi (non-hentai ones) untill recently, but It's not my favorite, but some good ones are D.N.Angel and Juvenile Orion. I like all anime but hantai, anything that goes there I don't like, blah!

Dude, D.N. Angel is NOT yaoi (or at least I don't think so). I'm pretty sure it isn't.

I have started watching Loveless, which is a great BL series, just like Gravitation and Yami no Matsuei. But I don't know if Loveless reaches yaoi levels or not, because I just started watching it *-*;

Excuse me? Yaoi does not always turn people on. i like yaoi because its much more interesting than the normal guy/girl pairings. and its cute.... and the hard yaoi is....well...hott....but it dosn't turn me on!

I really have no idea why I love it so much, but my guess is that it's a two for one thing, instead of seeing one hot guy in bed, you get two... or sometimes even more... and there's no girl to get jealous over.

For some shounen-ai, I would definitly get Gravitation, but I'd stay away from FAKE if you dont want yaoi(more hardcore than shounen-ai), the last one is very graphic... I still dont know how I'm going to get it...

3. A lot of people think that "yaoi" only refers to the porn-y side of Shounen-ai, so it's better to just ask for plain "shounen-ai" so people won't become confused. Anyways, reading your replies so far, I think you have enough suggestions already.

Actually...Yaoi IS the more hentai side since shounen-ai refers to boys love which would probably encompass Yaoi more than Yaoi would encompass shounen ai

example:

All roses are flowers.

Not all flowers are roses.

All Yaoi is shounen-ai.

Not all shounen-ai is Yaoi.
