I was actually aware of their schedule before this, but yeah. It's insane. I'd drive myself insane with something like that. My schedule is bad as it is, but it's no where near as busy as that.

You know... My awesome Teacher is a Beast at drawing.
He actually worked as a Storyboarder and he was fine the first week when he was working at *classified*.
He has a particular way to draw, awesome and fast; although his Chief warned him to watch out, he told him that the way he was drawing will eventually breaks his arm...
Second week, it actually happened. D:
He almost lost his job.

To sum it up, really, it's not easy as it sounds it is, even though you have skill on it.
But passion will keep you going... I guess...

I knew that being a mangaka was stressful, but I never imagined it to be like that. I wonder if Osamu Tezuka had to stick to a similar schedule, or did mangaka in the past have it easier? o_O

Tezuka when he was dying was begging for them to let him go back to work so that he could draw. But the stress was one of the things that killed him, along with his illness. Tezuka was a mangaka before it meant anything profitable. He was a truly great man.

I'm such a procrastinator that there's really no chance that I could get anything done weekly, practically, especially nothing even vaguely creative. I'd probably be hiding in a closet crying with my editor pounding on the door. I don't even see how the comic artists who do the newspaper funnies get things done as often as they do.
