What dies, dies. Shame, but people get over it.

I know I will, fairly quickly... I have the short attention span to find a new hobby fairly quickly.

I have a reason to look forward to the MMO now.

Because people upload and dowload and stream illegal subs of anime on the internet, the companies in America who dub them have no choice but to close down because they're not getting any money from it.

The ******** internet has subbed episodes, live with it

Maybe some people want good subs or want to buy dvds instead of downloading, live with it.

By the way, if companies go bankrupt then there will be no new anime to fansub.

...I'm sure the companies in JAPAN are doing better than the ones in the U.S.
Thats where they're made, after all.

And thats how they get to the internet, basically. From JAPAN, not THE US...

well ,as long as they have subbed episodes, onemanga.com, and sell manga at book stores, i guess i could live, but i hope they keep manga on tv though, if they do ill get pissed

Eeeh, I doubt it, lately the American economy has been slowing down so EVERYONE'S getting hit... But still, look how far anime and manga have succeded in the US in such a short time, especially with the low level of quality american animation has had over the last several years (NOTE:There HAVE been some good american cartoons, but the majority has been...well,really weak xp )

I think we'll see more american/japanese hybrid animation in the future, as long as people buy and watch anime and read manga, there's no real reason to panic just yet... heart

Stole the words from my mouth.
Thank you for saving me the trouble to type it out.

well I know that they all watch it on computer, but they also have it for cell phones too.
I had the LG chocolate phone and it had tokyo pop manga on it.

I really don't think there's any threat of anime "dying" in the US. It pretty popular here, and just because Geneon shut down that doesn't mean all of the other companies are suddenly going to do the same (Newtype was a magazine owned by ADV, not a film company). ADV, Funimation, Bandai (and there's another one I'm forgetting) do very well for themselves, and I can't see them stopping the release of anime in the US any time soon.

But for the record, the US anime market isn't the only one that's being hit hard. Even in Japan the market has been hit pretty hard.

ohz noez American compines iz closingz. i'z better learnz japanese quicklyz
It's time to learn Japanese. But there's plenty of anime anyways, plus fansubbers, so I doubt there will be any shortage of it.

Anime is dying?

This is a sign of a good future.
The world isn't as rotten as I thought it is.
WE CAN DO NOTHING WITH THAT

WE CAN DO NOTHING WITH THAT

Oh well, we could actually start BUYING anime instead of downloading it for free, but this is out of question for some people.
