I think M. Night should apologize for all the movies he made past the Sixth Sense, including Avatar. It's so blatent that they were going to whitewash the live action movie making it from the multi-cultural based show to another series Hollywood has currupted with what they consider good actors. All the main characters would've been white with the original casting. I really don't think the firebenders should be indian, it's just suspicious since the director is the same race and the fire nation is obviously based off of China. Katara and Sokka being white is a little weird since they're supposed to be eskimoes. Atleast I hear Toph will be asian, but still the casting is just off in my opinion. I hate Hollywood for doing this with a lot of stories that should have asians as lead actors. I'm going to take the movie for what it is since it looks well made, I just want the characters to look more accurate to the cartoon counterparts.

I agree. At this point, I'm just looking at it as a bad fanfic. XD Let's hope it's not a total train wreck.

Unfortunately, I'm not excited for TLA coming out this July. Some of the actors have been slammed for shoddy acting, the writing is apparently terrible, and don't even get me started on the horrible racism....I hope that if the movie tanks, people won't think the show is horrible. It's hard enough now to try and get people to watch a "kid's show;" imagine how hard it will be if the movie fails!

Agreed! When I saw who the director was, the first time, I nearly died. The only thing that gave me any modicum of hope for the movie was the director admitting he was a fan of the series.

Same, but the new trailer makes me a small amount less uneasy about the whole thing. It looks really cool. 3nodding

I saw a preview of the manga on free comic book day- the art style is very different from the show but still interesting. I wonder if Mike and Bryan helped the writers with their own sort of "show cannon" backstory?

How do y'all feel about Avatar: The Legend of Korra? I'm really excited for this, especially since Mike and Bryan are heading it. Hopefully the Avatar will be female, seeing as the only ones we have so far are Yangchen and Kyoshi, and we really don't know a lot about them.

Who else has gotten their behind the scenes art book? I pre-ordered mine a few weeks ago and it came in yesterday. It's absolutely fantastic, with commentary and drawings from the very beginning.
