It wasn't that bad. True it felt more like a movie version of The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor instead of the original Wonderland stories by Lewis Carol. But it wasn't that bad.
It was great! You do know it was a continuation of Lewis Carol's right?

do you wanna give us a good reason to why it sucked? or do you want to be a f**

If Lewis Carroll wanted a continuation, he would have written another one.

He's dead. I doubt he cares one way or the other. wink

He wrote two books on Alice and her adventures. He also wrote other things. But, times being as they were, I'm sure he had other things to do besides just that.

Personally, I like to think that he would have appreciated how much people liked his stories, and how well they've stood the test of time.

Fell...?

Down the rabbit hole, you mean? wink
Alice has always been one of my favorite fairytales of all time and sure, maybe some parts could use some tweaking, but personally, I'd have to say it's the best movie of the last few years. I'd like to see exactly what you found displeasing.

Dapper Gekko

I agree with you.
That movie was, at best, alright.
I've seen worse before, but I've also seen much better.

And here's my reason why.
I think the biggest downfall to that film was that it had a plot.
Lewis Carrols books (and yes, I have read Through the looking glass) aren't supposed to make 100% sense.
This film kind of... It just, well...
There was nothing special about the plot.
It was simple, easy, and you could tell what was going to happen next.

What I hated the most though...
Was the fact that everything was so chaotic all the time.
There was a never ending sense of peril to it.
My friend summed it up nicely to me.
Peril is fantastic for a film, for it keeps you gripped and what not,
but if it exists for the entire movie.
Then it gets old really fast.
And by the end, you're so sick of peril that you want another emotion.

The plot...
It was rushed, too much 'I have to get here, fight this, go here, solve this, ect.'
You never got a chance to step back and see wonderland for what it is.
WONDER. (Or, well, Under in that movie)

The costumes were pretty though,
I'll give Tim Burton that.

The movie had a very crappy plot, since when is the Mad Hatter supposed to be a sword wielder? Why do the Queens truly hate each other? It was just a movie made by Tim Burton to rack up some $$$ from all the Hot Topic scene-kids. stare
The only people who say the movie was good are hardcore Alice fans.

I wasn't particularly impessed with it, but I wouldn't say it was bad either. Personally, I found pretty much all of the characters to be a disappointment.
For a movie called Alice in Wonderland, there wasn't much Alice time.
Mostly only what you would call the Hatter and the Red Queen, even though they were both horribly out of character.

It was an okay movie, but not an okay Alice movie.

Divine Muse

I like all versions of Alice in wonderland including animations and music like Tom Petty's "Don't come around here no more"

That being said I won't be a**l retentive and claim to be a "purist" or some silliness. I liked parts of it but I did not like other parts. I thought Deeps acting left a bit to be desired but just because I did not like some parts does not mean I could not like it.

If that makes sense.
