Lewis Carroll wrote the stories for a little girl named Alice Liddell. He used to visit the Liddell family and spent a large amount of time with the children. He used to make up stories for the children the entertain them. He took particular interest in the young girl named Alice, and when she asked him to make up a story for her he just started making things up about a curious young girl named Alice who fell down a rabbit hole.
