"Uhm...I'm fine, no thanks...and what would you like to drink?"

She gives him an annoyed look.

Bella smirks, "And he's not even drunk yet."
She motions for another specialty drink to accompany his water and lemon wedge.

jizu walked in and took a seat at the nearest open chair and started polishing his katana.

"Lovely katana you have there." Fox remarked as she stared at it with glowing red eyes.

"thanx.it took me 183 folds to perfect it" he replied

"Goodness," She said staring at the craftmanship of the item. "It doesn't look too old... or is that because you keep it looking that way?"

"i polish it constantly.i have to.it's served me for the past 260 years and it still looks like it did after my first war."

For a moment she was silent continuing to watch him before she let out a half-chuckle. "I'm sorry if I was being odd." She said and looked at him with a bow of the head. "I'm Fox, whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?"

"i've seen odder.i'm jizu."

Grace snatched a bottle of vodka and walked up to the new comer. "Want a drink?"

*sulks in corner, mumbling something about geting his drink swiped*

Grace looked at the bottle in her hand and then at the disgruntled party goer in the corner. "Whoops!" She walked over to him holding the bottle apologeticly out at him and smiled sheepishly. "Vodka?"
You shouldn't play with knives, they're dangerous, just ask my uncle Ben.

Taidine

What was she doing here? At parties off Gaia, there was at least the chance of meeting someone interesting; virtual friends had far less potential. A dark room seemed so cliched, so paltry; not for the unusual, but for the mainstream. It was the most crowded of those she had observed so far, as though every teen with half an ounce of hormones had suddenly become so sullen they had to be here, where the lights were dim and the music angry. Was she bowing to a trend? When a subculture becomes larger then the main culture, does belonging to it denote conformity?

She was feeling dreadfully cynical. It's a horrible thing when one can't even take themselves seriously. But she had removed her usual accessories, a parrot beak and cat ears, in favor of something a bit darker; purple lace tickled her shoulders and a silver bracelet dangled, clinking, from her wrist. The eyeliner was heavy and black. She couldn't shake the niggling sense that - light and darkness, she was still wearing that cat tail.

Too late now. She would blend in with this ecclectic crowd well enough, though, that no one would feel the need to speak to her. Good. I'm a dreadful mingler. No, she wasn't planning on starting a conversation. If it started of its own accord, all well and good, but she wasn't seeking it. Actually, right now she could use a drink - so it would look like she was doing something, not standing clueless in the doorway.

She pushed awkwardly into the crowd, shoving her hands into her pockets. So out of place... She wasn't emo, or dark; perhaps goth, but only by inclination, only because she wanted to be, not necessarily because she agreed with it all. It was a rebellion thing. This made it all seem so shallow.

It occurred to her that this introspection was merely another form of procrastination, and spotted an empty bar stool. Underaged drinking- delightful. She sat down, spinning on the seat once before realizing the childishness of her actions, and settled down to wait for the bartender to notice. It didn't take long; soon she was leaning across the dark wood of the bar, elbows supporting her, to ask for an absinthe.

"Absinthe," Taidine repeated as the bartender gave her a look of incomprehension. She wondered if she was pronouncing it wrong, but apparently it had merely been the noise in the room, because now the 'tender nodded and moved off, leaving her alone on her stool. She spun around again, leaning her back against the bar to watch the rest of the room. Light, people were fascinating. She often resented being at the edge, uninvolved, but watching had its perks. When she got truely caught up in someone else's drama she could forget her own loneliness entirely. And that - that was why she was here. As an observer. Right?

Right.

She stood very quietly, her back against the wall, the gilded paper almost making contact with her dress. There were so very many people, and so many voices, so many lives taking part here.

Her thoughts turned to the guests. How pretty and handsome they all looked. She concealed her regret at being thought too young to dance, and became amused with watching the pretty ladies go by on the arms of their dates. But her dark eyelashes flicked downward slightly. There was nothing in the immediate future that she had to look forward to.

Even the bar tender had refused her a cup of tea with his remark, "Aye, isn't it past your bedtime?"

The little
girl sighed softly.

Ari leaned over, thinking that the bartender knew her and would send her to bed.

"Err, she's with me," she lied, wondering what the girl's reaction would be. Hey, everyone had to have a little fun tonight. It was a ball!
