A bit of a tough call, as I'm going into this World Cup in typical 'Merican style. (i.e., a near-complete dearth of knowledge when it comes to association football.) But I've seen enough matches to make a couple choices. Even outside my home nation.

For the USA, you gotta go with Tim Howard. Sure, he has to do a hell of a lot more work than most goalkeepers due to our notoriously poor defense, but he manages to keep scores fairly low in spite of that.

For England, it's a tie between the leadership of Gerrard or the ferocity of Rooney. Mostly because when I watch the Premiere League, I still haven't figured out whether to pull more for Liverpool or Man U. Unthinkable in the UK due to the rivalry, unthinkable in 'Merica due to no one really paying attention.

...Ah, feckit. Let's go with Gerrard due to the ending of Formula 51.

Brazil. They're one of the few countries that can get pissed at their team winning, due to it not being flashy enoughs. Pick a player at random and watch them head all the way to the Final Four.

That's about all I can think of who's still in the tournament. A little sad to see Greece and the Ivory Coast out of things, but there's always the future.

...Oh crap, 2014's in Brazil? Just hand 'em the cup nao.
