Welcome to Gaia! :: The Halo 3 containment sticky

So the day has arrived, and Halo 3 is finally out!
Was the wait worth it?
You've been chomping at the bit since the beta... Or maybe you skipped it so that nothing could spoil the final product. Maybe you're one of the people that forgot about it until now, when everyone's been bombarding the forums with Halo threads so that there's no way you couldn't know?

Like it or not, Halo 3 is here... and a lot of people want to talk about it. This is the place to discuss it.


Did you pre-order? Camp out? Which edition did you get?
Maybe you just went to the store and grabbed it whenever it was convenient. Or perhaps you're still waiting?
Is it good? Do you like it, or do you have problems with it?
How long have you been playing?
Maybe you want to talk about spoilers... If you do, please put the spoiling text in white.

Anyhow, I've only gotten to play a pre-release kiosk demo (Which was quite nice.) , I would certainly get it if the 360 wasn't so faulty... (Red-ringed on the 26th... One day before Halo 3...)

Halo 3 is awsome, we've played through the campaign like 7 times now!

I'm not blown away by it. (Despite running around the day it came out yelling "ZOMG teh Haloz!" wink

But really I am a huge fan of the series, and the Fiction in general.

As far as the game goes, it IS a damn good game. Very solid, they got a good system, pretty clean and stuck with it.

The only negative thing I would have to say about it is that it feels almost like you're still playing Halo 2. (Yes, I am aware of the improved Graphics and Equipment and new weapons. It just still had that same feel.)

However having the same "feel" as Halo 2 isn't necessarily bad. because Halo 2 was fucking FUN. Not only that but it remains fun four years past it's release.

So like I said, it didn't blow me away, it didn't revolutionize anything in the industry from what I can tell.


But it doesn't have to. It's Halo. I loved every bit of it.



The Halo series to me seems like a very solid well built one.

If you desired you could go play the edgier games, like Gears of War, or Bioshock.
But (while those other two games are awesome) I can almost guaranty that the Well Rounded Gamer, will come back to Halo, years and years from it's release.

Halo 3 = Exactly what I needed. No more, no less, it's very satisfying in my opinion.

Yeah they tell you how to kill the scarab and its not that hard once you get used to it.

It's about time this game gets a sticky.... sweatdrop
