Other possibilities include being made from pebbles tossed behind the last survivors of an ancient flood, or being made out of water and clay by Prometheus, or coming out of a hole in the ground to find the world above and subsequently stealing food from the Ravens. The bible doesn't really go through a step by step on how man was created. That wouldn't have been all that important to the people the Book of Genesis was written for, anyways. The Book of Genesis isn't all that good when it comes to the physical creation of things, but it does an excellent job at what it was intended to do: explain beginning of Man's relationship with God. |

As for the limitations of fossil evidence, the statistical odds against fossil formation are staggering, so there's no inconsistency with not having found certain fossils. Furthermore, vestigal organs (organs which are not currently used in organisms but appear to have been functional in the past) are a sign that creatures have evolved from a stage where they needed that organ to one where it is no longer useful. a) We did evolve. ...them's the basics. I'm not much of a biologist so I'll leave the details to others. blaugh I thought that said "Indeterminate Forms" when I first read it... 0/0 doesn't exist!! |
