A Thank-You to Veterans

• Description: I wrote this sonnet for Veteran's Day and to give thanks to the service members and veterans of the armed forces.

From sea to shining sea,
And above purple peaks,
As far as one can see,
Are beautiful America’s keeps.

It is where one can vote,
Pursue undeniable dreams,
Where to family time we devote,
And stand for freedom’s themes.

But, a grave price was redeemed
For all things we revere.
All of the sacrifices were seemed
Into the flag where they adhere.

How great it is to be free!
And for that I thank thee!
