• I looked into the sky
    Coated with embers
The sunlight was so far away
    And dim, I remember

My heart was full of charcoal
    My feelings were of glass
There I sat at the window
    Watching life go past

A slave I was to melancholy
A slave I was to sorrow
    In due time I was
In hope of a better tomorrow

My heart no longer is burnt with flame
But filled with stitches and scars
I hope no one ends up like me
    Plagued by their own wars
