• Am I awake?
These colors, they can’t be real.
    Yet, they are everywhere.
    Oh god!
    Oh god, that smells!
    What is it?
    Ammonia, roses and smoke,
    a mix of nauseating proportions.
    What was that?
Oh, nothing but a green and purple spotted rabbit.
Five feet tall… nothing to worry about.
Elated happiness and then uncontrollable fear set in.
Unless, unless it wants to EAT ME!
    Talk about ironic.

    Am I asleep?
I pace, back and forth, in my room.
Back in my bed, when did that happen?
    Blackness suffocates my sight,
    along with my lungs.
A sharp inhale of air and color returns.
Moments later, I forget about the incident.
A mirror appears in my room, I stand in front.
    My eyes are shut yet under my lids I see movement;
    jerky, side to side movement.
How can I see all of this vividly with shut eyes?
    It doesn’t matter.
It makes sense… in my head.

    What happened?
The hairs on the back of my neck are up and alert.
    Sweat pouring down my back.
Hands are throbbing and I collapse on the ground.
My head is spinning and I’m afraid.
    Of what? It doesn’t matter.
    I look around my room.
One wall is cracked and my stuff…
    in a shamble.
    A fight broke out, apparently.

    Since when?
    I nodded my head.
My mother just left the room.
    Was she talking to me?
I was too busy cleaning the mess up.
    Re-organizing things.
Sorry, I can’t pay attention to two things at once.
I chose cleaning to be of higher importance.
It needed more of my attention.

    I’m awake.
    My day goes on.
I’m aware of what I’m aware of.
