• The day we met, we were so young,
    So innocent, so angelic--
    We were children,
And we knew we were good.

As we grew up, you were a little better,
    Making everyone smile more--
I was the one that made the jokes,
Who was frowned upon now and then.

As we lived, you were the brighest,
Making the day a better thing--
I was the one who lurked in the night,
    And yet we stayed together..

As we aged, we never looked different,
Always seemingly young, but old in wisdom.
You seemed to glow, warm and happy--
I was dark, and yet stayed by you.

As we wandered the land, we kept the peace,
The dark and the light, the day and the night--
    You made them smile always,
While I was just their fear.

As we helped, I grew to love you,
And you grew to love me--
We laughed, we cried, we shared,
And I couldn't have asked for more.

I wanted to stay as we were,
But then I had to part.
    You ascended to the clouds,
While I fell below, reaching for you.

    When we met again,
    You were radiant, godly--
    I was dark, depressing,
    And yet you loved me.

I wanted to be with you,
But when I left, we changed.
    You had to kill me--
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
