• I heard the Music play one day
    Loud and clear and strong.
It sang a melody so sweet
I wished it'd play all day long.

I've heard pieces, songs, and writ
    Echo throughout my halls,
    But nothing, nothing could compare
    To Music's singletary call.

    I heard bells and twinkles
    In Music's breezy laugh.
    I saw melody flowing everywhere
    But beauty only in half;

Music would hum a tune and
I would call back mine own.
    Melodies and hearts entwined together,
    A masterpiece we did hone.

But one day the Music left me
    One sunny summer afternoon.
Music left me standing there alone and empty, but
Leaving me hoping that he would come home soon.

So every melody I sing will be
    Only half a song
Since it is missing the harmony
    Only one can play along.

    We are all incomplete things
With only one aria of the heart.
But do you think we all have
Someone to play the other part?
