• I've got ocean water is a spray bottle.
    I spritz my hair,
and sprinkle sand on my clothes.
Pretending to be a beach bum
    in a snow smothered town.
The shores of our lakes are lined with...
    dead fish.
And I'd stumble upon no seashells,
    sea glass,
    or star fish,
    but a Bud Lite can.
    I wear bright, spring dresses
    with frayed edges
    and graphic designs
    to match my flip flops.
And I cut my hair off,
shine, sparkle, shimmer with plastic jewels.
    A true sun doll,
    made for the waves,
yet I only trudge through the snow and ice.
Hope my bare arms, legs, toes don't frost bite.
    Rocking gaudy sunglasses
in a region lost in overcast.
    Painting my nails,
that can't dry out in the cold.
    Flakes make me shiver,
    wind causes a cringe.
    Dreaming of the bright days
    and
    hot, still nights.
Caught in an impermeable snow globe.
