There is silence across the land
a deadly silence
that carries heavy mist of grief
and sorrow
the trees sway in a resltless rhythm
to the chilling wind
its frost is chilling
and biting
a maiden weeps in the night
for the suffering of her dear friend
icy waters form from her tears
they scatter across the land
crystal blue it appears
but it reflects a pale view
the dusky sky sets in the distance
and the fog emerges
from the black lagoon
all is still
and at rest
though the maiden
does not rest in peace
but sleeps upon grief's pillow
and under sorrow's blanket.
