I must have said too much
or too little.
Ears twitching as the footsteps recede
leaving me on my own.
Candle burning ice and water
fire's gone,
replaced by this stark, new light
leaving me cut in the cold
of your receding foot prints.
Alone.
Don't, alone.
Don't leave, alone.
Don't leave me alone!
Can't hear the echos over
the pounding of my heart
of the echos,
the echos.
Echos,
of your footsteps
crunching in the snow.
As you familiar figure
walks out the door,
for the last time
and for good.

Description:
Hm, well, what can I say? I was in my modern poetry class and we were reading a poem by Emily Dickinson, and out of nowhere, POW! it just started flowing. So tell me what you think?
Criticism is good, as long as it's constructive to making this a better poem.
Thank you.
