I have done a deed that blackens my soul,
It seemed all was lost, my life in whole.
I was trapped in my once beloved solitude,
Trapped by my past and those who pursued.
I had lost my way, as I traveled my path,
I had lost control, given over to wrath,
But out of the white, you came to me,
You came to my cage, bearing the key.

Description:
This poem was made for someone in a test version of my custom poetry shop that can be found via the link underneath the poem.
It is about a character that murdered someone, and was living as a fugitive and a recluse for some time before he found someone to love.

- so basically, in my last comment, that's the gist of it. however, each image and metaphor you use seems too unoriginal, (blacken soul, lost my path, cage/key image) and even gets too melodramatic; more showing, less telling.

- i did some wrong; my life's over. i once was all alone, delving in the past and amongst enemies. i did worse wrongs enough to destroy my plans in my anger, but you and your innocence freed me from this lifestyle.
