• She used to dream of angels

She used to live for love

She always wanted to be friends

She was as gentle as a dove.

She rescued every stray she found

    She remembered every birthday

She always called if you were sick

She sang in church on Sunday.

For all the pureness she possessed

She should have had two wings

    But other people resented it

    So they destroyed her dreams.

Wish I could say that she survived

    And that those people failed

    She wasn’t strong enough inside

Her soul was just too frail.

The girl she used to be is gone

With empty eyes she hides in fear

But I still wish she had two wings

So she could fly away from here.

I think that God agreed with me

When risking her life to save a child

She was hit by the car in the street

Dying in my arms she finally smiled.

I cried when the light left her eyes

Holding her small hand made me shiver

What hurts the most of all of this is

I think we all helped kill her.
