My Fallen Angel

• Description: As I was reading a poem my friend made I began to think of my own. I began thinking about our relationship and how special and meaningful it is to me. I know it might seem a little cheesy or whiny and some of you may say "Oh boy. Another teenager who claims to be in love." but this is just how I feel.

So many years have passed by my eyes
As I've been laying here in the grass
Staring up at the heavenly clouds above my world
Waiting for Heaven to open it's gate and bring down my angel

I began to lose hope
As I laid there waiting patiently for what seemed like an eternity
For Heaven's gate to open wide
Allowing my angel to come down and bless me

I slowly closed my eyes as I gave up hope
Waiting for Death's sweet embrace
So that my sense of loneliness would end
And my empty beating heart would finally rest

But then I heard a voice like none other
That made me open my eyes and see the clouds separate
As an angel came down from the Heavens above
And lay down by my side

When my eyes locked in to his I was captured
After years of planning my words were lost and I had nothing to say
All I could do was stare in to the crystal eyes of my angel
And smile knowing that I was no longer alone

When I asked him "Who are you?"
He replied to me in the most beautiful voice
"I am your angel my love."
And when he smiled back at me I was enchanted even more

Inside my chest I felt my heart beat against my ribs
As his warm arms wrapped around my body I began to feel at home
His scent was enduring
And when his lips touched to mine I became lost forever

I then began to cry out of happiness and shame
After all this time we had finally found each other
And I was ashamed of my self for almost giving up on him
For not being as patient as I should have been

But now that he is here I know that I no longer need to wait
I can finally stand up with my head held up high
Because I know that he will never leave my side
And we can finally face the future and all it holds together

And thats what I was aiming for Ruto : D I know it doesn't really rhyme but most poems don't and I was hoping to make a story within a poem.

Only part I didn't like was the line "Inside my chest I felt my heart beat against my chest"
Just an overuse of the word chest lol
other than that, very beautiful!
