I do not understand
The imperfections of the world.
Why animals are treated so cruelly
And why we live in a world of hypocrisy.

I do not understand
Why the most beautiful places of the world
Are the ones untouched by human beings.

Bust most of all I do not understand
the abundance of violence everywhere.
How so many can be killed without a reason, a word, a care.
Why no one can see that violence will lead not to glory, but despair.

But what I do understand
Is that the Earth’s beauty can overcome the ugliness of destruction
That the smallest things in life can bring us so much joy
And this joy can overcome the abundance of despair.
