• One time at school for lunch we had this really nasty rice thing called couscous. It smelled horrible so I assumed it tasted bad. I closed the box and pushed it away. I looked around to see if anything interesting was going on. I saw a sixth grader put half of it on his fork and swallow it. This gave me the idea that if you’re hungry enough you will eat just about anything. People will eat food that looks or smells gross, they will eat small insects .or even wood!
People will eat food that looks or smells gross. For example in other countries they probably whip-up some things that we would never dream of eating. On the other hand some of the things that we out may seem really gross to them. I’ve also found out that in many countries they mix up berries, bugs, and other things, and they think it taste great.
I’ve come to realize that some people will try to eat hard objects like wood! I have gone to many places where I see little kids eating non edible objects. For example, sometimes when I go to the playground I see little kids
putting wood chips in their mouth. Luckily their mothers make them spit it out.
I’ve also figured out that people eat living things. Even bugs! I’ve seen little kids eat worms, flies, and even ants! In my neighborhood there used to live a kid, and he used to eat bugs all the time. I believe that one time he ate way to many, because he got very sick the next day. When he was better I asked him how they tasted. He told me, “They taste great.” They may taste good to him, but I don’t think I’ll try it anytime soon.
People think that different things taste good. They will eat bugs, wood and some unknown things. Maybe they eat them because they think it tastes good, they don’t know what is edible and what isn’t, or they’re just very hungry. I guess if you’re hungry enough you will eat just about anything.
