• reach my hand into the fridge and pull out one of a few pops sitting inside. Raising my head from the fridge I stare at the bananas on the counter. I have a quick internal debate on if I should take one or not but get bored and head back up to my room.
Sitting in my chair, I spun around to face my computer screen. Grabbing the headset off my desk I place it on my head and lower the mic to beside my mouth "Alright boys and girls, let's kill us a boss."
    "It's about time Nate."
    "No bailing like last night."
"Let's get this over with I'm tired."
I smirk as I listen to my friends chew me out. This was a thing we did when one of us went to get or do something before an important fight "Alright jokes aside, let's get to work." I don't even need to see my friends to know they have serious looks on their faces as we enter the boss area.
My friends and I like to play a lot of different online games. We usually play MMORPGs but branch off to FPSs and MOBAs from time to time. Our dream is to become well-known in the online gaming community.
Tonight we are playing the game we were most known on; Blood of the Soulless. It was your basic ARPG with some great graphics, a huge variety in class selection, and a decent story line. My role in our group is DPS, It's a simple task just hit mobs hard and fast.
Christopher Summer is my best and longest friend. Our dads were close friends since before they went to high school, so Chris and I have been stuck together since we were in diapers, it also helps that he lives next door. Chris' role in our group is the tank; he keeps mobs away from me but more importantly our healer so fights go easier.
Our group's healer is Eliza Scarlet. She and I met in the first grade thanks to a piece of gum I lodged into her hair; Chris had dared me to do it. The next day she came to school with a really bad haircut, the kids in class took it upon themselves to make fun of her before Chris and I stepped in and put an end to it.
Last but certainly not least was Ruby Foster; she was DPS like me but liked fight from distance using a bow, guns, or magic. Ruby and I met in the sixth grade. On her first day at my school she beat Chris, Eliza (who wasn't much help), and I in a three on one soccer game. Amazed by her personality and athleticism we became good friends.
"Nathan R. Carter. If you don't start hitting this boss I will slap you!" Seeing as threats from Ruby were actually scary I brought my attention back to the game, if the threat was from anyone else I would have kept messing around.
Thinking of the past distracted me from the fight at hand. Placing one hand on my mouse, I move the other on to the regular WASD spot on the keyboard.
With a great sword the size of my character in hand I charge the boss stabbing it in the side before releasing a hail storm of attacks on it. The big bosses in this game are usually huge creatures made of blood. The game has five final bosses but you have to beat four to unlock the fifth Blood God. Today we were fighting our second of the four: Axel the Minotaur.
I jump close to Axel's face and slam my sword along his body. Axel charges at me but Chris use a skill to block him. I slash at his legs and jump back as Chris leads him into a wall.
"Pray of Healing~" Eliza raise her staff into the air and it emits a green light that moves to everyone in the party restoring our hp.
"Good timing Eliza." Chris slams his shield into Axel pushing him into a corner he has about two percent hp left "Nate, Ruby end it!"
"Rain of Arrows!" Ruby aims her bow into the air and let's loose a barrage of arrows that come down on the cornered boss.
"Raging Strike!" I soar high above the boss with my great sword on my shoulder. I swing my sword down and slash right between the boss' eyes killing it.
As my friends start screaming over their mics I turn down the volume of my own so I can sit back and enjoy my victory. I have a huge smile on my face until my phone goes off it was a text from my older sister who I hadn't heard from in two months it read "Do you wanna try a new game?"
My sisters was the one who first got me into gaming so any game she would say was good, was good. Since I haven't played games with her since she left for college last September I was excited at the thought of playing with her again.
"What kind?" I text back to her.
    "The Virtual kind." She replies.
My eyes open wide if there was one kind of game I wanted to play it was the VR kind and my sister knew it so this had to be her.
"Where, when and can my friends come too?"
"Tomorrow at your schools lunch and the more the merrier."
