• Chapter 6: Farewell Rush Valley, Hello Chimeras?! pt. 1

"Alice, are you ready to go yet? We should've left an hour ago!" shouted Edward from Alice's door.
Alice rubbed her sleepy eyes and instantlly remembered that she was going to leave Rush Valley and she accidently overslept!
"Oh crap, thanks for reminding me Ed!" exclaimed Alice from her bedroom.
"You mean you forgotten that we're leaving?!" exclaimed Ed.
    "Sorry!" cried Alice.
A few minutes later Alice changed out of her PJs and into her normal clothes then packed what she needed. She walked to the kitchen and ran into an angry Edward. Her sweat dropped and she laughed nervously.
"Sorry, I forgot that we were leaving. Sorry, sorry." said Alice.
"Okay are we all ready to go?" asked Al.
"Hold on, where's Sorrow?" asked Edward.
"I remember him saying something about waiting for us at the town entrance, I think." replied Alice.
The Elric brothers were silent until Edward broke the silence.
"Why didn't you tell us?!" shouted Edward.
"I'm forgetful sometimes, Ed." said Alice.
They walked from Alice's house to Rush Valley's entrance, meeting Sorrow. Sorrow stood between the entrance and looked out into the terrain.
"You know we're taking a train, right?" asked Alice.
"I thought we were walking to Central, I guess I misheard." replied Sorrow
"Walking to Central will take days, taking the train to Central will be a little faster." said Edward.
They walked to the train station, bought their tickets, and boarded the train. During the train ride, Alice looked out the window and smiled.
"It's been years since I was on a train. The last time I was on was when I moved to Rush Valley." said Alice.
"I remember riding the train with my brother when I was little." said Sorrow.
"You had a brother?" asked Al.
"I had an older brother, our mom and dad died from illness so it was my brother and me. He became a state alchemist when I was around seven." replied Sorrow.
"Neat, I wish I had a brother but I'm an only child. Lucky you Sorrow, you too Ed." said Alice.
    "I'm not lucky." said Sorrow.
Before Edward and Alice could speak, the train went into a cave but it suddenly stopped and the lights went out.
"Folks, this is your conductor speaking. We seemed to have a power outage and-what the heck is that?!"
A scream was heard from the intercom and Alice grabbed Edwards arm. Alice closed her eyes and trembled. Edward patted Alice's head and smiled calmly.
"Alice, it's going to be okay. Don't worry." said Edward softly.
People were whispering softly and some parents onboard comforted their kids. The intercom was silent for a while. Suddenly, a growling sound was heard and everybody gasped. Then banging on the door was heard, Edward kept his eye on the door and so did Sorrow and Al.
    "What was that?" asked Sorrow.
Before Edward can respond, a chimera suddenly bust from the door. It had the appearance of an wolf but it also looked like it was mutated with a saber toothed tiger and a bear.
It walked around the aisle sniffing the air for its kill. Alice had tears forming in her eyes and Edward hugged Alice with his arm. The chimera looked over at Edward, growling at him. It trotted to where Edward and his friends are.

Will Edward think of a plan to take down the chimera or will he be eaten, I don't know. Stick around for part two coming this month.
