• Chapter 5 – The first secret

The ghost arrived to at the home of Evelyn. She noticed the tense in her pose as she stood at the window looking out of it into the darkness. As the ghost moved slightly Evelyn turned and looked at the ghost woman. For a moment it seemed that Evelyn couldn't see her, but after a moment Evelyn spoke.

“How bad is she?” Her tone was full of concern as if she was worried about her own child.

“She's been crying. It's hurt her a lot Evelyn. I know for a fact what the truth is, but in honesty the kid isn't like that. When I went there to look at what had been going on, there was a linger of something in the room.” The ghostly woman's words echoed and her look was full of concern and worry.

“You think he's here?” Evelyn asked with panic and worry in her voice. “But why would Creed go after her? She isn't his daughter. Jake is his son. Do you think he's been keeping a watch on her?” Worry was flaring up in her voice more and more with each word she said. “I should call Kalas and ask him to keep an ear out and to watch over her.”

The ghostly woman laughed. “If you want my advice then you will both just come clean to her. That she is your daughter and that Kalas is her father. There is a two year gap between her and Jake and the way Jake is with her...” The ghostly woman left the sentence hanging. “Do you really want to cause her any more hurt and cause your son hurt in the process. For all we know Creed could know about you and Kalas and could be going after her for mere pleasure as revenge for your betrayal.”

Evelyn sat down on the chair that was close by as she put her hands into her face. Tears had began to roll down her face a little. “This is what we didn't want for her. That was why we asked you to watch her and protect her and bring her up as your own daughter.”

“And look what happened there.” The woman said much quieter. “Evelyn I've never told you the truth of what happened to me have I?”

The woman looked up at the ghost. Worry was clearly showing across her face along with panic.

“I was out going to work in my car, when I was in a car crash. You knew that much, but this you haven't know. I've not said anything as I didn't think nothing of it. Now with all of this coming up. The dark magic lingering in the boys room. It wasn't an accident, it was a set up. I think it was Creed in that other car or one of his friends. They never died which is now playing on my mind that Creed has gone deeper into dark arts.”

Evelyn gave out a groan of sadness. “I have to call Kalas. He has to know...” She broke off as she got up and picked up her phone and put the number into the phone ready to call Kalas. “You should head back to keep a watch on her. Try and keep her in the house tomorrow, or I'll ask Kalas if he can keep watch and I'll try and keep Jake away from her. In the end that is the only thing that will work.”

The ghost woman nodded and vanished leaving Evelyn alone with the phone in her hand. She looked at it for a moment longer and took a deep breath. She had never wanted to call Kalas not on these terms.

“Kalas, it's Evelyn. The worse has happened. He's here and we fear that he knows...” The woman informed the other person on the other end once they had picked up.
