• "H-how did you find our---," Nico started. The man didn't let him finish. He took a shot. I awoke at the sound of the gunshot. David rolled out of the way and he and I slammed on the ground.
"Farrah, I'm sorry we got you into this," he said weakly.
I smiled. "That's alright." I had this terrible feeling and looked at the man. He was looking at Nico and Micheal, as if he wasn't aiming for us anymore, but I knew he would shoot. I had a sharp pain in my gut that gave me the feeling that I should push David out his spot. Then I felt such a terrible presence and saw the man quickly turn and shoot with a grin on his face, as if he had tricked us. But I saw it coming from somewhere. I had a power to see the future? As he clicked the trigger I jumped on David and we rolled to the other side of the sidewalk. The bullet missed by an inch.
"Damn you girl!" the scruffy man yelled. He ran up to me and David with the gun and swung it like crazy, about to use it as a club. I was about to get up and defend David, but when I put pressure on my foot, I stumbled. I felt a sharp pain. Was it broken? Oh no, if it was, I'd be a punching bag for the man.
David held me up, awkwardly, I was on top of him. "Farrah, are you alright?" He asked.
"Y-yeah." I was about to turn around to face the man, but he ran faster than I thought. He was looming over me and David, with a yellow and black smile pasted on his face.
"Heh heh. I'm not the good guy, but I'll stop the war before it starts, starting with the vital piece," he whispered.
What did he mean vital piece? I was no good, so was he talking about David? David did seem like the leader of the group, so I braced myself to protect him. Apparently David got hurt the first time we tumbled down, because he was groaning under me.
"Farrah, run, get out of the way..." he said weakly.
"N-no. I'm going to protect you." I said firmly, looking straight in his eyes.
    "Y-You don't understand, run."
"Wha---" I started but then the man started to speak again.
"You should listen to him, too bad its too late." he said. "I'm aiming for the queen of the chessboard, though the king is king, the real power is in the queen. Doing whatever the hell she wants. I won't let you stop me."
I understood what he meant but wondered what value did I have. I'm just a girl.
Then my eyes widened, he was pointing the gun straight at me face.
    "Die, b***h," he said.
I closed my eyes and prepared for impact. I heard the shot, but instead of hitting me square in the face, it shot off somewhere else. I opened my eyes and saw Micheal standing over the man, and blood on my hands.
Am I bleeding? I thought. No no, but...
I turned and saw David under me holding his side, and blood gushing out of a hole.
"Oh," was all I could get out. "D--"
Bam! Something hit my back. I turned and saw a huge bump and the man looming over me again, Micheal unconscience on the ground. He had hit me with the gun and I suddenly felt dizzy, my wound was bleeding, and I was angry. How could he do this to a stranger? What did I ever do to him? I turned and stood. I was wobbly and heavy, but I felt a surge of power. My body started to glow, and out of the wound on my back came wind, a sweet, pure, clean smelling aura flowed around me. I looked at my clothes, and they had changed into something pure white, with blue in some spots. I seemed to know exactly what to do. I lifted my arm, and gently flicked my fingers. Wind and petals flew out, as gentle as my movements, then they came out in an intense blast of wind. Theres was a lock on my shirt, over my heart. A key appeared in my hand too.
    It was Anna's.
