• “I want something sweet.” Alice popped her lips as though agreeing with herself. “Yeah, something sweet would be nice.”

“I have something sweet.” Jordan leaned over whispering in her ear, only to be replied with a smack on the arm.

“That is not what I meant!” Her voice bitter in reply, Jordan laughed it off and placed his arm across Alice’s small frame. One hand on her far shoulder while his elbow dipped down her back. Alice shook her shoulders, not currently friendly to his touch. Yet Jordan dropped his arm, almost on his own and took the lead as they sauntered down the road towards their next class. Holding out her arm in a lethargic way, Alice grasped the cloth covering over Jordan’s arm and the small gesture of a pull caused him to come to a stop.

“Did you do your homework?” Her question seemed dull, though she didn’t honestly care, but still Jordan groaned dropping his back and head looking up. This must have been the millionth time she’s asked him!

    “Yes Alice! Stop asking.”

“Okay fine!” She let go turning on her heel ready to walk away, but this time she was abruptly stopped by Jordan’s hand in hers.

    “Fine, don’t kiss me.”

Alice didn’t mean to, but a smile crept up her lips bulging her cheeks up and causing her dimples to show. In away that made Jordan exhale deeply, Alice lowered her eyelids so her dark eyelashes shadowed blizzard eyes. That normally spent their beautiful time glaring or tear up whenever Jordan saw them, so in seeing this rare look, Jordan took advantage.

“Alright.” He cooed trying to match her attractive eyes with his voice, yet failing and simple breathing out his words weakly. Sounding nervous and unsure.

Alicia grasped his bottom lip with her mouth, and pulled her head back just enough to stretched it towards herself. Jordan’s chuckle shook his lip lose from her lazy grasp, and before she

    “Alright… I’ll see you later.”

Alice stopped, pebbles rolled down by her parted feet as though she had been frozen in a walking position. Her tongue was outstretched and curled up against her top lip. She almost gasped as she noticed that her tongue did not deserve her. A breeze picked up strands of her hair, and pressed them against her face. Alice withdrew her tongue and left it in her mouth for a moment, as though waiting for something to change. Again she pushed her tongue out, this time fatter and pressed against her bottom lip. There was no change from the advent of before, her lips where the same and her tongue felt the same thing.

She hadn’t tasted this before her kiss with Jordan, or before her want for something sweet. But now she could taste it, a light candy tastes in the creases of her lips fading as it came to her cream skin. Everything felt and looked the same, she knew, this was different.

With down cast eyes Alice parted her lips feeling the breath dry her lips and the taste of Jordan’s own lips left on them.
