• I walked into the classroom. Everyone was talking. The guys were making airplanes and throwing them. It feels like I'm in grade school again. I walk to the back where the only empty seat is. All the preps and snobs took the front, just to be with the jocks. I was nothing. I had a few friends, which is all I need in my book. I sat down and started to look at the writing carved into the desk. The room is louder back here then up there. I was looking around when the room went silent.

"Good morning, class," said the teacher. She had black, long hair with aqua blue eyes. She had a lisp when she talked. "I'm Miss. Gorr."

We all looked around. Her name sounded like gore. Blood, guts, you know. Nasty stuff like that. Miss. Gorr told us to open our books to page, I don't know, I think 102. It's hard to see and hear from back here. Then, she started talking about landmarks and boring geography stuff. You know what geography does to me? It makes me fall asleep.

I was in a dark, cold room. No, not a room. More like a dark, cold cave. Something was growling on the other side. Then, there was some whispering. The growling died down. A huge rock started to move. I ran to the darkest side of the room, so I wouldn't be seen. Something the size of a building came in, looking for me. When it couldn't find me, it left. It moved the rock back in place. The growling came again. I decided to stay in the darkest part of the room, for my sake at least. Then, the rock moved again. The huge thing came in with a flashlight and shined it towards me. It licked it's lips and went toward me. Before it got me, I woke up.

I looked around and no one was there, except Miss. Gorr, who was looking straight at me. I noticed blood on my desk. A nosebleed again.

"Did you have a nice nap, Miss. Conwelf?" Miss. Gorr said, walking up to me. I covered my nose so she wouldn't see my nosebleed. "Next time you can go to the office. It better not happen again Lana! Here's a hall pass. You're going to 3rd period."

I took the hall pass and went to my locker. I took a tissue from my tissue box that I keep in my locker. I started to get rid of the nosebleed. I closed my locker and dragged myself to 3rd period. Everything was quiet when I came in. The teacher pointed to my seat. Great. I sat by Jaina Lioper. The preppiest girl in the school.

She passed me a note that said, 'First days suck!' I just crumpled it and threw it in the trash. After an hour of useless learning, the lunch bell rang. Everyone, (Including me) ran to the cafeteria. I met up with Riley Huffer, my best friend.

"I heard you had a nightmare in Miss. Gorr's class. I bet it was hard covering up the blood," she said. Riley knew about my nightmares. I can never have a good dream. And the worst part is, I get nosebleeds every time.

"Yeah," I said. "My jacket was all bloody." I started picking at my food.

"Your life must suck. I mean, your dad and mom just broke up, your baby sister is sick, and you fell asleep in Miss. Gorr's class," she said with a mouth full. "No wonder you cut yourself."

Now, if she would have said that any louder, everyone would hear. Riley was the big mouth. The girl across from me just glanced at me, then looked away. "I told you not to talk about that Riley!" I said, smacking her.

    "Sorry, I forgot."

A couple minutes went by. The bell rang and we went back to class. I was so relieved to go home when the last bell of the day rang. I actually ran to the bus. Now, the bus ride home was a bit exciting. There were spitballs, airplanes, and back mouthing at the bus driver. I just sat in the back, kinda like in class. I finally got home, opened the door, and found my mom at the 10th attempt of suicide.
