• "Joan don't touch that!" Marcus commanded me once again. This was my first time being outside the village...and my first time gathering food. There were plants everywhere. I couldn't even tell if they were poisonous or just good-tasting plants. Marcus, who's two years older than me, is a friend of mine. He was always so nice. Even if he came home with injuries from the outside. "Honestly, why did they send you to food gathering?"
"People from the last food gathering shouldn't head out yet. The injuries they got from the dragons still aren't healed."
"Still, sending out you? Where are their heads at? If you get injured..." Marcus gave me a look. I don't really know how to describe this look. It was as if he's angry but worried yet happy? Yes, those emotion don't really mix well. "I have an idea, gather the flowers and fruit on that tree over there. Okay?"
"Eh? B-but where will you be?"
"Just around here. Don't worry, I'm not going to leave you, kiddo."
I pouted at the word kiddo. I was already fifteen, yet he still treated me like I'm five. I stomped over to the tree. They had bright yellow fruits. The flowers on the ground varied. Some were pink, some where red, some where blue. Although I didn't recognize the type of flowers they are. Then, I noticed something red behind the tree. I decided to investigate. Then, I noticed it was a person.
He wore a sort of armour and a red scarf. He had jet black hair that was thicker in the middle than it was on the sides.
"Um...sir?" I called him sir even though he looked around my age. I sat next to him, my dress falling on the grass. He seemed unconscious but he didn't show any signs of injuries. Was he sleeping?
I tapped the silver shoulder-plate, shaking him a little. He groaned.
    "Marcus!" I called over.
"SHHH! Don't scream so loud." He was jogging slowly to the tree. When I showed him the boy, sighed and said. "I guess we should bring him to the village. After all, who knows when a dragon will swallow this fellow up?"
He placed the boy over his shoulder and gave me his food basket. We started making our way towards the village. I noticed the odd necklace he tied around his arm. I wondered where I've seen it before.
