• The lord's final decision. Banishment. Forever. My eyes widened at the sound of his voice sounding so... Angry. What had I done? I could not honestly remember, but he obviously did. When the final arrangements were made, my wings were stripped of flight and I was thrown down to the earth below.
It's not so bad, if you think about it. It's been years since that day. My wings have since lost their dove-like appearance and become something more... Sickening. They've become a black, disturbing colour with a look that simply did not say "Angel", any longer. It has been so long since I've been in contact with any other holy beings. Or and sort of being in general. Mortals could not see me. I was like a ghost to them. Unheard, unseen, unnoticed. I let out a long sigh and I walked slowly down the empty sidewalk of a town I do not recall ever coming to. It was my current "Home" for now, until I moved on. I was always waiting for that one human to see me, and not freak out or anything. But that day has yet to come. Sometimes, I would tap on a human's shoulder to mess with them. It was spark argument and one time even a fist fight or two with another. It made me laugh at first, but the joy left many a decade ago.
Today is yet another day following my eternity of the same day coming each and again whenever the moon passes through another evening. I stood alone on the street corner, having stopped for no reason. I listened as voices grew nearer, three of them. I could tell easily that they were about the same age as I. They stopped once they were right by me.
"Ma'am, are you alright?" One of them, the boy who stood in the center reached out and shook my shoulder. "Are you lost, or something?"
As much as I would have regretted to, I spun around to face the group. The other two were watching the boy who stood in the center, his hand still reached out from when he had tried getting my attention. They could not see me. "Wha-what's this?" My voice couldn't help but stutter and speak.
This was the same boy I had watched over for so many years before I fell.
