• "thunder" chapter ten.

I waited patiently, but vigilantly, for a shadow, or any other demon, to appear from the gate. short of the high circle's officials passing through for some sort of negotiations, nothing came through. I didn't really know much about this particular gate, but i did know one thig. this gate has a direct path to the black citadel, where i was going to be imprisoned for another year soon. it was worse than hell to be encased in ice at that place. a man in a strange masked man always came in and put some strange shackles on me. it was strange becauise he seemed to conjure them from the same material as a shadow. thrn he completely drenched me with some funny smelling water. Then begins the painful process. With some weird power, he just freezes the water that im covered in. the whole process hurts like hell. I can barely stand to explain the process.
Suddenly, the cavern was filled with a maniacal laughter.i quickly took a fighting pose, then the laughter was replaced by an equally maniacal voice, "Well, brother, I'm glad to see you in such a good condition."'
I turned toward the voice. I had began sensing shadow energies closing in on me. and withoutwarning, a shadow leaped from the cavern's opening at me, I quickly dodged it, as it continued toward the gate. but , instead of passing through, it stopped. I could feel the essances of all the killed demon hunters on it. "You're the one who killed Izzy, if i'm not mistaken." By now, i actually should've been running. even with the ability to sense shadows, i couldn't fight them.
As I stared down the shadow, it"s eyes glowing a faint green., it began to materialize into something. the icky black energy that composed it's body shifted and gathered in around the center of the creature. As it did, the whole of the thing began to expand, taking the form of a human. As it continued, the identity of the human form it took was something i'll never forget. He turned around to face me, "Well, Adrian, it's about time." He had my black hair, my green eyes, and his voice was so similar to mine, it was insane.
"who are you?" I asked, stopped dead in my tracks.
"Who am I? honestly, is thast the best you have for your brother?" He walked over to a stalagmite near the gate. He reached behind it and pulled out some clothes, and two eery looking handguns, with strange, intricate swirls along its barrel, running down to the handle. He put the clothes on quickly and turned once again to face me.
"I don't have a brother." I said, mystified at this person's similarity to myself.
