• Chapter 4

Kyoma ran through the trees, following Naruto's scent. I have to find him, no matter what. After all, he is just like me, right?
She slowed down, spotting the familiar boy sitting against a tree, his eyes full of tears. She hesitated before walking to him and sitting beside him. Oh dang! I didn't even think about what I was going to say! She tried to let words just come to her, but they wouldn't.
"I knew it." He muttered to himself, as if he didn't see her at all. "No one cares about me."
As soon as she said this, her hand that was clenched into a small tight fist immediately connected to the back of his head. The boy then looked up at her, shocked.
"Look, Kid!" Kyoma was glaring daggers at him, partly for what he said, and partly for not noticing she was there. "I really don't know much about you, or why it is that people treat you the way they do!" She gritted her teeth, "but that doesn't mean that no one cares for you! I mean look at Iruka! If he didn't care so much for you, wouldn't he have stopped you the moment you were caught with that scroll!"
He looked up at her, his eyes still full of tears and confusion.
"Who are you?" He asked her, his voice a bit rough and shaken, probably from the crying and anger that was welled inside of him.
Kyoma smiled, standing up before him and pointing to herself with her thumb. "I'm Kyoma Inuzuka! One day I'm going to be known as one of the greatest ninjas here in this village!" She giggled as she said this and then looked to him, putting her thumb down and pointing at him, "who are you?"
He gave her a weak smile. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki! One day I'm going to become Hokage! That way everyone will know who I am!" Kyoma could feel his confidence build up as he said this.
"I think you're pretty cool, Kid." she smiled down at him, and looked to the scene taking place behind him. Even his dream is somewhat like mine. "I have a feeling, that one day we're going to be great friends."
Her eyes flickered to a small butterfly that suddenly fluttered around Kyoma. I guess that's my cue to go. "Look, Ki-" she paused and smiled again, before turning away. "Naruto-kun, one day you will be great. Just keep trying to find those bonds that will only make you stronger. The one's you will be willing to protect. Only then will I believe what you say." She smirked before walking away, leaving the boy to the choice he needed to make. The choice to protect his bonds.

Kyoma bit her lip as she knocked on the door to the hokage's room. "Hokage-sama?"
"Come in." The hokage's voice, surprisingly enough, sounded please as it went through the door.
Kyoma obeyed the man, and walked into the room. She glanced to Blaise and Shy who were standing before the hokage. "You are dismissed." He announced, Blaise and Shy bowing their heads before walking towards the door. Blaise winked at Kyoma before closing the door behind him.
"Come this way, Kyoma." The old man had a small wooden pipe placed in his mouth. His hands were around a glass orb, but his eyes were on her.
Kyoma looked down at the orb as she got closer, watching the images that played in it. "Hey, that's Naruto!" She smiled down at the orb.
"Yes. He is the boy you have met in the forest, and as you can see, he is doing quite well." The hokage seemed to have been proud as he said this.
Kyoma smirked as she watched Naruto defeating Mizuki in the orb.
"Kyoma, what you have learned about Naruto, you must keep to yourself." His tone had become serious as soon as he said her name. "Do not even tell your closest friend."
Kyoma opened her mout to object, but closed it. She knew that she couldn't tell anyone, because no one else would understand.
"If the young ones learn of this secret, he will only suffer more."
Kyoma nodded her head, though still curious of the whole situation. She flung her hands out in front of her. "Why would Yondaime-sama do that? I mean, he must have known-"
"Minato did this, because he wanted everyone to look up to Naruto as a hero." The hokage said, interrupting Kyoma's question to which the answer he knew well.
"A hero? That sounds interesting and all, and I'm sure he can do it, but why him?" She had a feeling that there was more going on than the old man was letting out. "I mean, out of all the kids here in Konoha, why Naruto?"
The hokage looked taken back by this and scratched his cheek with his index finger. "That, is something not even I know." He looked away, avoiding her eyes which were staring him down.
She sighed, giving a small smile. "I promise, that I won't tell anyone about what is inside of him."
"Good, then you are dismissed." He said, still looking away.
Kyoma bowed her head, then walked out the door.

"So, how is she doing, Tamata?" A woman with long, purple hair was sitting in a leather sofa. Her blue eyes looking to a man who to her has stayed the same, even after the years.
"She doing alright, Hikari-sama. She is still the same. Though, it looks like she might have met the demon of that village." He bowed his head to the woman as he stood in front of her. "Even though they barely met, they seem to hold some kind of bond."
"Of course there is a bond. They both have monsters." Hikari stood up from the sofa, looking to Tamata with a slightly curious look. "Did she agree to the mission?"
"Good." She said before walking off to her chamber.
"Umm...Hikari-chan? I was wondering, if it is almost that time."
Hikari opened the door to her chamber and looked back at him, a malicious grin on her face. "Yes. That time is very close to come." She laughed before walking into her chamber, and closing the door behind her.
