• I ran around. It was mischief night. Fun fun fun. There was this old house at the end of the street. That was our target. Taylor smiled. So did I. Victoria handed out the silly string cans and mike had the toilet paper. We got to work. Taylor and I sticky stringed the door. Victoria and mike teepee it. After that I was sent to the door. I was smiling as I rang the doorbell. But as I went to run, a hand grabbed me "do not run" a voice called. My friends looked at me.

    "Run" I mouthed. They did.

A teenage boy appeared. No older than me. I shivered. He was so pale. "Come in" he pulled me in. I followed. Maybe his parents would let me off easy if I just went along. But surprisingly, nothing. No parents. When I looked around we were in parlor with a fireplace and tea ready. It was kind of like one of those movies. "Sit" I sat down on a leather seat. It was soft. Real nice. Like my grandfathers 1940s leather chairs. This brought back so many memories. He served the tea "cream and sugar?" his voice was calm. There was a smile on his face

"Yes please..... With extra sugar" I said in monotone. He served it to me. I nodded my head in thanks. I drank. It tasted sweet like honey. But it seemed to have this delicious bitter taste. I tasted a bit of mint too.

"Can you tell me why you teepee and silly stringed my house?" he asked calmly, sipping his own tea. I took a breath.

"We didn’t think anybody lived here..... We just wanted to have a little fun...." I said.

"Well that understandable. I haven’t had fun in so long......" he sighed and looked to me. His eyes showing me he wasn’t lying. I frowned a bit.

    "How long?" I asked.

"I haven’t had fun since I was about 12" he looked at me. His red hair flickered with the fire and his eyes were like emeralds. He circled the top of the teacup with his finger and looked at me. “What do you do for fun?"

"We.... well..... Um........ We go to the mall, in the fall we jump in leaves..... We have sleepovers....... eat cake.... go trick or treating....." I smiled a bit. He looked at me and took my tea cup. Go find your friends. Have more fun. Come see me tomorrow. I’ll have a special little treat for you." he smiled and I nodded and left.

On Halloween I went trick or treating with my friends. But I couldn't get that guy out of my head. It was like he had embedded himself there. I sighed and made my way to his old house. I knocked. When he opened the door he looked so different. His skin was paler. His eyes had become a misty green. "Are... are you alright?" I asked him. He nodded. Taking my hand. He stared at my wrist for a good while. I looked at him oddly. He stared into my eyes. It was like I couldn't look away from them. "You have to get inside." he looked as if he was going to fall over. I brought him inside and placed him on the love seat. I sat next to him. He smiled at me.

"Where are your parents?" he asked me. I stayed silent.

"I live with my aunt and uncle down the road."

"ah." he smiled as if it had just made his day. He moved the hair from my eyes and swept it back, exposing my neck. "How would you like to stay with me?" he asked. I looked at him with surprise. “I never got your name” he changed the subject
“Call me….. Siren……” I hated my real name. It was such a freaking copy cat name.
“siren…..” he smiled. “Call me Axaze (ah- kah – zeh). Or just Xaze (kah- zeh)” he smiled and kissed my neck. I moved away. He stared at me, his right eye. It changed color. It was blue. I backed away further. What was he? He grabbed my arm again and pulled me in. “Stay here with me” he seemed to beg while at the same time ordering me. I tried to pull away. But he was strong. He pulled me into his embrace. “you’re too beautiful to let go.” He whispered to me.
    “but….. but…….”
“no buts.” He kissed my neck again. Seconds later a felt a pain. I couldn’t see. I couldn’t move. The world was going black…… black……..
that last thing I hear and saw was him saying “sorry……” fangs extended.
