• Aric and Miran's Halloween

"Ok, this is a bad idea, Miran," Aric warned worriedly. "A REALLY bad idea." Miran and Aric had returned to Infon. Why? It was October Thirty First. Halloween. Aric really had no clue what Halloween was, but Miran didn't blame him. As far as Earth was concerned, the guy was an idiot.

"Relax. We're just spreading a little Halloween joy. And...A little pranks won't do any harm." Miran answered slyly. Halloween was her favorite time of the year. It was a time of pranks. Pranks were good. Very good.

Grinning, she jumped off the top of the building they were on. The sun was barely showing now. It was twilight. Miran looked around.

Everyone was going on with their daily lives. No Halloween decorations. These people were stupider than she thought.

Miran ran over to a white haired man buying stones at the marketplace. She tapped on his shoulder.

"Hey, have you ever heard of Halloween?" She asked eagerly. She felt Aric right behind her. He wanted to go along with it.

The man turned, smiling warmly. He spoke in a clear tone. "No, I haven't. I'm sorry."

Miran frowned, not satisfied. She returned the man a smile.

"That's okay. I'll just ask someone else." She said, running off. Someone had to know about this holiday.

"This is pointless!" Aric complained. Miran and he had already gone through about twenty citizens. Every single one said that they didn't have a clue about Halloween.

"Alright, time for plan B." Miran said, rubbing her hands together. She stalked toward the large boulder in the middle of the town. According to Aric, this rock was supposed to be sacred or something. Miran jumped on top of it.

"Attention!" She yelled for everyone to hear. She waited for a couple seconds, but no sign of notice came to her. Now annoyed, Miran yelled to the top of her lungs.

"HEY! LISTEN UP!" She cupped her hands to amplify her voice. Everyone turned. That should do it, she thought. She continued. "I've asked a lot of people here what Halloween is. Everyone said no! What is wrong with you people?" She said laughing.

The citizens stared at her with confusion. They really didn't have a clue. Miran sighed, and then jumped down. She knew she was going to run into this. So, on the way here, she drew a little sketch of a decorated house. She walked over to the white haired man she first talked to and showed him her masterpiece.

"First, you guys have to decorate you houses with stuff like this," She pointed to the jack-o-lanterns, orange and black lights, and other decorations. The man took the drawing and started to study it. Miran sped over to a girl in a blue dress buying fruit and spoke again.

"Then, tonight, you and your friend go from house to house to get candy and other sweets from the adults. Plus, you gotta say Trick-or-Treat. Sounds good?" She asked her. The girl nodded happily. I've got one follower, Miran thought. She jumped up on top of the boulder again.

"This is an Earth holiday loved by millions. C'mon guys! Let's just get some spirit on!" She yelled so everyone could hear. This was followed by a barrage of whispering. Miran crossed her arms. These people had to make up their minds soon.

"Miran!" A deep voice came from behind her. She turned. Aric's father was standing on the ground below her. He sighed. "What are you doing?" He asked.

Miran laughed nervously. What a party crasher, she thought. She scratched the back of her head.

"I'm just trying to add some Earth spirit. C'mon!" She answered joyfully.

Aric's father sighed again. "Alright," He said gingerly. "But don't take this too far, okay?"

"Right." Miran stated, determined. She was going to turn this place into the best Halloween host city ever.

Two hours later, when it was dark, Infon was embellished with everything that had to do with Halloween. Jack-o-Lanterns were sitting in front of the big town boulder. Houses were decorated with orange and black flowers. Infon didn't use much electricity, so Miran had to improvise. She and Aric were standing on a roof again, watching kids go from house to house.

"So, what's it called again?" Aric asked tonelessly.

"Trick-or-treat." Miran answered happily. She was loving this. Halloween was great. And soon, Aric was going to be a victim of one of her infamous pranks.

"Right. Well, I'll think I'll take trick." Her comrade said as a board of wood hit Miran on the back of her head. She fell to the ground. Aric put her on his shoulders, jumped off the roof, and started to walk back to where they had come from.

"We are never doing this again." He said, bored. His city was a mess. God knew how long it was going to take to get back. Happy Halloween.
