• PHASE ONE: Dawn

IndentThe first golden rays of sunlight began to caress the faces of the houses of the village, extending its lighted fingers to touch and lift the weary stalks of grasses and stir the spirit of the earth once more. Still, even as the sunlight began to dance upon the grey stones of the Castle, it continued to hold its dark charm, as if the castle itself were enveloped in the blanket of night for eternity.
IndentAs the villagers began to wake and rise from their beds, getting ready for their day, and even before they turned to tend to their feilds, their cattle, their lives, they would turn to the castle and dream of what it would be like to walk down the halls. The fine marble tiles and the silver dishes, the gold-plated forks that came in four sizes depending on what you ate for those five courses. The delicate silk robes and beautiful gowns that would adorn them as they stood straight and walked with their shoulders back, the air about them filled with confidence and wealth.
IndentBut sadly, those dreams were dashed before they could be realized. For they were mere peasants, and peasants never dared go to close to the castle, for fear that The Seer would find them. The Seer was a dreadful beast, it had no smell, no taste, no sound, it did not even have a body. That is what made the Seer a terrible monster. It could see you, but you could not see it, and when it saw you, before you knew it.... You were gone, lost to the dungeons below the castle. Where the dust hung in blankets on the slated floors and the shrieks and crys of the long ago lost still echoed in the halls.

    "Lord Jakob, Lord Jakob... "
IndentThe Maids voice was crisp and cheery, just as it always was. She would stand there, tirelessly calling Jakobs name over and over again until he would get up and send her away. He could never sleep in, and he was not a morning person, which angered him deeply. How could they do it, he thought endlessly, how could they possibly stay chipper and merry no matter what was happening?

    "Lord Jakob"

"Annibelle, Im quite alright now, please leave me." Jakob spoke, his deep voice caught in the web of sleep though his body was not. He waved her off and sat up, resting his head in his hands a moment. He couldn't quite bring himself to get up and dressed yet, especially since he had nowhere to go today. This daily 'Get up, Eat, Wander, Flirt, Hopefully get her in bed and out of bed before anyone saw' routine was not working for him today.

IndentDaringly making it to his feet. Lord Jakob staggered forward clumsily and shook his head, forgetting another reason why he was never a morning person. Being wealthy meant you could get away with just bout everything, and with every tavern and inn serving dirt cheap ales and occasionally rums, Jakob would more then just enjoy a few drinks here and there, or a nice sip of wine on occasion. Jakob would do what he wanted, when he wanted, especially if women were around.
IndentTying his dirty blonde hair back into a small ponytail, Jakob found himself looking into the mirror. He was handsome, about twenty-three years old, and tall. He was muscular, but he would most likely stand no chance against a man his age in the village, due to his more pampered existance.
    schilk.
The last bit of stubble from his chin was gone, leaving Jakob staring into the sky-blue-turqoise eyes of his reflection. What a Handsome devil he was....

IndentHe dusted his black trousers off and adjusted his belt. Sighing, he slipped on his off-white colored blouse and his black petticoat, fastening the polished gold buttons that depicted his crest, a flying raven with a large pair of eyes set into its wings. He pulled on his black silken gloves with ease, having done it so many times since he was a young prince. Tugging his coat so it lay straight and flush against his body, Lord Jakob was ready to make his appearance at breakfast today.

IndentPushing open his set of double doors, whose old brass hinges struggled with the large oaken doors and screamed and squealed to be released of their duties, gave away his intentions and alerted the waiting Annibelle to her dear lord Jakobs arrival.

"Lord Jakob. Your presence is requested in the Great Hall for Breakfast." She was by his side, at his elbow before his elbow could even cross the threshold.

" I will not be dining in the Great Hall this morning my dearest Annibele. I'd like you to aquire a nice spread in the Courtyard for me, for i shall enjoy a nice quiet breakfast there. "

IndentHe gave a smile and pat her head, leaving her to do as he asked. He set off, a casual stroll around the Castle before he would cross the lawns, traipse around the flowerbeds and hedges, and then, just as he was growing weary with hunger, he would arrive at the courtyard and view his delectable breakfast.

And thus concludes Dawn, moving onto the Grey Morning.
