    Chapter 1: Rise of evil

The sun shone through the window in a small house in the center of Tristrum. The day seemed like it would be normal, until a shriek came from within the cathedral. Like a group of trained soldiers heading for war, the men of the small town busted through the doors of the house.

A woman sat on the ground holding Ward-a young boy that was a crook and charged people just to see what he was selling and the item are sold at insanely high prices- The young boy was missing his leg, gasping in pain he looked away.

“What happ’en to ‘em?” Griswald asked looking at the boy. Griswald was a man who ran the blacksmith shop, grizzled and rough from the years at work. “I...I was playing in the labyrinth when a beast came and attacked me, I tried to crawl away and it ripped of my leg.” He gasped as he looked down at the stub where his leg had been.

“We must leave the town.” A voice came from the figure of Cain. “What do you mean old man?” A young girl asked. “Ah young Gillian, you should know from the tales that your grandmother tells that this looks like Diablo is at work.” “I know Cain, but still...” she said before Cain cut her off. “We need a hero.”

As soon as the word slipped his lips, a booming voice shouted, “well maybe I can be of some assistance.” He said with deep sarcasm. A young man with deep silver eyes walked up to the elderly man. “Who might you be young man?” he asked the new comer, “My name….you can call me Lazarus.”

The man had long silver hair to match his eyes, “I am a warrior for hire, and I go where there are demons and kill them.” Lazarus spoke to them with a calm tone, “I need all those top men of your village, with the exceptions of the healer, blacksmith, and the Inn’s keeper, Come to me after the men are ready and I will then venture into the labyrinth.”

As darkness set on the town, Lazarus looked up at the labyrinth, “soon my lord Diablo, I will ask for the prince next.” He said before he heard someone behind him. Turing Lazarus Saw the prince himself, “my Lord, Would you enjoy to come with us into the labyrinth?” They young boy paused, “I think that I would, I was planning on going even if you had not asked.” He said in a quiet voice.

The men came to the front to meet Lazarus, “sir this dose not seem safe.” They said as they all crowded around. “Do not worry you have me by you side.” He said as they headed to the entrance and disapered within.
