• Elizabeth Valentine. She was the most beautiful young lady know in the town of Heidenville. Her hair was long and smooth, the color of the sunset. Wild orange. Her eyes were bright green. Her skin was silky and flawless without a single scar. Her lips were full and naturally pink. Her long legs and proportionally shaped body was perfect. But she was a little odd. Never had she talked. Nor showed any kind of emotion. Her skin was pale white. Her eyes were sad. She ate little and slept little. She never went to school so she was home schooled. She was like a beautiful flower that would not unfold to expose her wonderful features. People knew Elizabeth had a horrible past but they didn’t know what had happened. All men longed to marry her, though Elizabeth showed no interest. Her parents, Mary and Edmond worry of her, praying that she slips out of this phase. That she would show her true colors. Though she never did…. Then the Lewis family came. They were new in town. A family of three. Ann and Jeffery Lewis and their daughter, Samantha. They were cousins of the Valentine family. Moving to Heidenville to be closer to family. Samantha took an interest in Elizabeth, wanting to figure her out. She had admired Elizabeth’s beauty. Soon enough, she came everyday to the Valentine house telling Elizabeth about her wild adventures in her old town, Jasport. Elizabeth became more and more in contact with the world. Her cheeks started to show color, her eyes showed more emotion, and soon she started answering questions and giving Samantha her honest opinions in subjects. Elizabeth’s parents allowed Samantha to come every day. They were so thankful of her. Samantha took Elizabeth outside sometimes. That also brought back Elizabeth. Soon, Elizabeth was healed from her horrible phase. She began eating more and sleeping more. She and Samantha were friends. Sharing secrets and laughing about jokes. She started going to school every day with Samantha. It seemed that Samantha even knew and understood Elizabeth’s broken past. Their friendship was extremely strong. But then, right when Elizabeth and Samantha were best friends, they were kicked out of town. They could not pay their rent, but the Valentine family would have helped. They never told the Valentine family they were not as wealthy. It was too late to give them money to pay, so the Lewis family was banned from Heidenville. Elizabeth was so sad, crying every night, longing for her friend. So did Samantha. They were so close together and it hurt them to be separated. So Elizabeth tried to find Samantha by running away. She had felt so guilty to be running away from her home but she had to find Samantha. She could not live without her. Elizabeth’s past of sorrow made her keep going. Finally, after two days of searching, she had found Samantha’s home. It was rugged. A peasant’s home compared to Elizabeth’s home. The windows were shattered, the front door was halfway broken, and the house seemed very small. She knew it was their house because she had asked many people about where the Lewis family lived. She knocked on the door and Jeffery Lewis opened the door. He looked like someone who spent two weeks in a cave. He looked embarrassed. He asked Elizabeth where her family was and she said she was allowed to visit them. He called Samantha’s name and she came to the door slowly looking very embarrassed. Elizabeth asked if she could speak to her outside and Samantha walked out thinking that Elizabeth would hate her now that she knows who Samantha truly is. Jeffery closed the door. Samantha stared at Elizabeth and said, “I’m sorry, Elizabeth. I lied to you. I’m so sorry.” “Don’t worry. I’m still your friend. I don’t care if you are wealthy or not, I still want to be your friend. I came over here because I was worried about you and because we just can’t be separated.” Samantha smiled. She hugged Elizabeth and started crying tears of happiness. Elizabeth hugged her back. Samantha looked up at her. “But why were you so sad before I came here? There are other people you could have been friends with.” Elizabeth looked at her seriously. “I had a rugged past”, she said. “I was a happy girl once, like a I am now. I became friends with this one girl named, Lucy Havord. She and I were great friends. But then she lied to me and told me to come to a party, where she humiliated me in front of everyone. It was so horrible that I can’t even talk about it. I have hated her from that day on. She deceived me. I’m worried that you will too.” Samantha looked at her. Her eyes filled with trust. “Elizabeth. Listen. I would NEVER do that to you. NEVER. You are my best friend and I want it to stay like that.” Elizabeth cried and smiled. This time her smile was the most genuine. “Thank you...” she said. Then Elizabeth went home and convinced her parents to let the Lewis family stay at their house while the family got back up on their feet. Elizabeth and Samantha remained friends for a very long time.
    THE END.
