• Katti stumbled into her house, the keys still hanging in the key hole, not even bothering to take them out. She groaned and dumped her bags next to the coat pegs, and flopped on the couch. "What a day," she breathed, searching around blindly for the television remote. Swinging her legs onto cushions that her mother placed so neatly on the couch, her legs ached and her throat was dry like sand paper.
Finally she found the remote, it was a struggle to even press the buttons .Katti watched, absent-minded. Staring into the T.V screen, and not taking anything in, not even caring if it was rubbish or not.
School was stressful for her, especially when she had to run 3 laps around the field. Katti grunted at the memory, and flicked between the channels. There was nothing good on, ' typical day time T.V.' Katti sighed to herself.

Katti must have fallen asleep, she sat up slowly, a grinding pain in her back. The sticky sweat clinging onto her school jumper made her ever more uncomfortable. It was dark outside, "huh, 9pm..." Katti said, glancing at her watch, ' Mum and Dad are late'.
She managed to stand up and stretch, although that would have been impossible for her before. The pain in her legs was slowly fading away, "Okay, it is time to raid," she announced to herself. Katti marched into the kitchen, her dark long hair brushing against her spine. She threw open the refrigerator door, and squatted down to see what ice-creams were left. After all, Katti and her family had a party about two weeks ago, most of the guests hogged their entire ice-cream supply. She managed to dig out a ice cream cone, Katti straightened up, at that moment the door bell rang. Startled, Katti dropped the ice-cream, head-first onto her foot. "That's just perfect," She said through her teeth, swiping up the ice-cream and throwing it in the bin with a disgusted look on her face.
The door bell rang demandingly, "What do you want Hira?" Katti's face dropped when she opened the door.
Hira wasn't in the mood for this, she looked terrified, "Katti..." Hira choked out, "Your parents...".
